6 Reasons that Breast Augmentation is the Top Cosmetic Surgery

Posted by Southern Surgical Arts on Sep 26, 2013 2:22:00 PM

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, breast augmentation is one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries in the United States. Women who are unhappy with the appearance of their breasts are frequently choosing to have them cosmetically enhanced.

Here are six reasons why breast augmentation is the top cosmetic surgery in the United States:

1. Satisfaction: When a woman is dissatisfied with the appearance of her breasts, it can negatively impact her confidence in her appearance. Breast augmentation can be a positive solution in these cases. Not only does augmentation allow the surgeon to increase breast size, it is also used to correct breast shape, asymmetries and volume loss. This can result in a more positive body image overall, as well as boost self-confidence.

2. Simple Surgery: There are many different techniques used to enhance breasts, but they all have one thing in common—augmentation is a rather simple, routine procedure with minimal downtime and scarring. Typically, the surgery is performed on an outpatient basis with general anesthesia. Most women can resume their daily routine within a few days, and activities such as exercise can be resumed after two to three weeks.

3. Safety: All breast implants that we use at Southern Surgical Arts are approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The FDA has determined that both saline and silicone gel implants are safe options for women seeking breast augmentation. Saline implants contain a sterile salt water solution that is very similar to the natural saline found in the human body. If a saline implant ruptures, it is absorbed effortlessly. Silicone implants have a cohesive gel that will not flow out even if the outer casing ruptures. Women interested in implants can work with their surgeon to choose the best option for them, with the peace of mind that either choice is safe and FDA-approved.

4. Long-lasting Results: While some breast implants can last a lifetime, implants typically have a lifespan of about 10 to 15 years. After that time, a woman may decide to get the implants replaced to maintain the shape, size and contour of the breast. Today’s breast implants are made from materials that are more durable and cosmetically attractive than in the past.

5. Choice of Implants: When it comes to breast implants, one size does not fit all. There is a wide variety of options in terms of size, shape and profiles. There are currently seven FDA-approved implants available in a teardrop shape to give breasts an ideal, beautiful appearance. Silicone gel implants offer a more natural touch and feel, while saline implants are good for adjusting volume when there are asymmetries in the breasts. Choosing the right implant is vital, and overall body type, figure and appearance are important considerations.

6. Affordability: Body confidence is priceless.  You simply cannot assign a numeric value to the importance of feeling confident and happy with your physical appearance. Fortunately, breast augmentation is also extremely affordable. There are many cosmetic surgery practices that also offer patient financing, putting this procedure within reach of many women who could not have afforded it in the past.

If you are considering breast augmentation, it is important you choose your cosmetic surgeon with care. Working with a highly skilled surgeon will greatly influence the outcome of your surgery. That is why so many patients choose Southern Surgical Arts, which is 100 percent devoted to cosmetic surgery. Curves Ahead!: The Brazilian Butt Lift

Posted by Southern Surgical Arts on Sep 12, 2013 3:04:00 AM

Thanks to stars like Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian, Hollywood has recently begun to start embracing curvy gals with impressive derrieres. As a result, their flat stomachs and round behinds have become celebrities themselves, and receive their own press coverage.

Now that the accepted aesthetic look for women’s bodies has moved to a perkier, more rounded appearance, cosmetic surgeons are receiving more request from women for buttock augmentations. Many men and women are unhappy with the size or shape of their buttocks. It may be too flat or saggy, or clothes just may not fit right. Gaining or losing weight, pregnancy and age can all affect the overall size, shape and buttock profile, which is hard to improve through muscle toning and exercise. Dr. Chad Deal, a specialist in artistic cosmetic surgery is pleased to report that anyone who dreams of a more youthful, sensual body profile and more prominent, shapely buttocks would benefit from a procedure called the “Brazilian Butt Lift.”

The voluptuous “Brazilian’ shape is achieved by removing excess fat from areas like the abdomen, waist or thighs and transferring it to the buttocks. Also known as a buttock augmentation, the Brazilian Butt Lift has been developed and refined over the last decade due to the dedication and hard work of a handful of exceptional surgeons who worked tirelessly to develop consistent, visually pleasing outcomes without sacrificing quality of care for the best possible health results.

One of the leading experts of this technique, Dr. Deal, a fellowship-trained, Double Board-Certified Cosmetic Surgeon has helped popularize the Brazilian Butt Lift. He has trained with the leading surgeons in and out of the field of cosmetic surgery, and during the first year of his cosmetic surgery fellowship in Las Vegas, Nevada, performed more than 800 cosmetic surgical procedures.  Since then, he has performed more than 3,000 procedures. As an expert in buttock augmentation throughout Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia, Dr. Deal trains surgeons from around the world how to perform the procedure, and has spoken at five American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery events specifically on the the Brazilian Butt Lift. He is known for his extensive knowledge of the body anatomy and was the cadaver lab director at the New and Established Techniques in Breast and Body Contouring: A Hands-On Cadaver Workshop in St. Louis, MO on Brazilian Butt Lifts and Breast Lifts in 2013.

Southern Surgical Arts is the cosmetic surgery practice of Carey Nease, MD and Chad Deal, MD who are 100% dedicated and focused on cosmetic surgery only, allowing them to specialize in ways other practices cannot. Southern Surgical Arts and our surgeons combine exceptional artistic ability and surgical expertise to deliver an experience in a warm, personal and caring environment. We are known for using the latest technology and are experts at providing minimum downtime and minimal scarring.  Southern Surgical Arts has consistently been named Best of the Best in Chattanooga for four years in a row.

The admiration of curvy celebrities in the media and in the public has increased the popularity of Brazilian Butt Lifts. The desire to have a shapelier body profile has resulted in a recent 28% increase in demand for the procedure, according to Realself.com, who also states that the procedure provides a high patient satisfaction rate of 93%. Dr. Deal agrees; “This is one of my favorite procedures to perform as patients are highly satisfied with the results. Patients love the feminine curves a Brazlilian Butt Lift can provide.”
