BTL EMSELLA® Urinary Incontinence Treatment
Involuntary urination caused by stress, urge and mixed urinary incontinence conditions is a result of weakened or lost pelvic floor muscle function due to bodily changes during the postpartum and/or postmenopausal phases and aging in general. Studies show 30% of women age 30, 40% of women age 40 and 50% of women age 50 and older suffer incontinence symptoms that significantly affect their daily lives. EMSELLA® is a quick, effective and painless urinary incontinence treatment for patients seeking to avoid the possible side effects of prescribed medication and/or consistent use of uncomfortable, temporary and inconvenient feminine incontinence products.
How It Works
The EMSELLA® uses High Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM) pulses to facilitate contraction of pelvic floor muscles and surrounding tissue while seated on a vibrating device. Patients experience approximately 11,000 painless contractions—the equivalent of 11,000 Kegel exercises—in one session. This extensive stimulation of deep pelvic floor muscles restores neuromuscular control and function to help prevent urinary incontinence.
- Non-surgical, non-invasive, painless procedure
- Fully clothed treatment during a 28-minute session
- Only six sessions needed, two times a week for three weeks
- Improvement of symptoms possible after just two sessions
Who is a Good Candidate?
Most women are good candidates as EMSELLA is a non-invasive procedure. Both postmenopausal and younger women can benefit from this procedure. Patients desiring reduced urinary incontinence symptoms due to: coughing, laughing, and exercise; the sudden onset of an uncontrolled urge to urinate; those who experience a lack of confidence in daily life or during sexual intimacy.
How Much Does it Cost?
Lasting results require completion of all six sessions. Each session costs $299, for a total cost of $1800. Typically, follow-up sessions are recommended in 6-12 months for results to last.
