We had a advanced laser training with Syneron/Candela in our office on Friday, and it exceeded my expectations! The staff at Southern Surgical Arts received hands-on, private training from the experts at Syneron/Candela. We learned advanced techniques on many of the lasers we use everyday for laser hair removal and rejuvenation. And, we also learned about skin tightening for the face and body (like the knees), vein reduction and stretch mark reduction. This advanced training helps us to provide our patients the results they are looking for! We have the laser technology, the training, and the staff at Southern Surgical Arts. ~ Nicole, RN

What our patients are saying about us
Posted by Southern Surgical Arts on Nov 10, 2010 9:26:00 AM
We just wanted to share with you what a few of our patients are saying about us. We always survey our cosmetic surgery patients and you can see their testimonials on our Testimonial page on our website. But, two of them really struck us as remarkable, and we wanted to share them with you. For the most part, both of these patients had excellent results and excellent experiences at Southern Surgical Arts. And, that is really what keeps the staff motivated to do our best every day. We really want to serve our patients with the best service and the best outcomes that exceed their expectations. Take a look at what these patients had to say:
"I had consultations with two other practices, but didn't want to trust my face to just any plastic surgeon. I wanted a board certified cosmetic surgeon. Of the doctors I met with, Dr. Nease was the most informed, professional, and took the most time to listen to me. He also looked after my best interests: I was considering a major change, but Dr. Nease advised that I consider less drastic measures that are better for my health and for maintaining a natural look."
"I really liked that I can call with a concern and no matter how minor it is, I have an extremely quick response from people that seem to genuinely care."

Update on the Latest Building and Research News
Posted by Southern Surgical Arts on Oct 30, 2010 9:28:00 AM
We have been working with our bank and builder to get the new location on Cowart Street going. And, our delay has been the comparable real estate appraisals in downtown Chattanooga. So, while we wait for the market to turn around, we are negotiating for temporary space in beautiful, historic Main Street. We believe in the revitalization of Main Street, and we hope to open shortly after the New Year. Watch for our progress. We'll keep you posted, so you can join in our excitement.
Vince Gardner, MD, our first Cosmetic Surgery training fellow, has adjusted well to the fast-paced program at Southern Surgical Arts. He continues to research the data and presentation of Dr. Nease's
Laser Face Lift Study which was a clinical study for facial rejuvenation and advanced face lifting techniques using two lasers in combination. This technique is cutting edge technology with the goal of minimizing downtime and scarring while achieving naturally youthful results. Drs. Nease and Gardner will present their findings at the 27th Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery in Phoenix, Arizona this January. Initial patient experience to the study has been positive and Dr. Nease has been pleased with the results. Statistical analysis is pending.
We'll update you on both the new Chattanooga location and the results of the Laser Face Lift study very soon! ~ Pam

What makes my job rewarding
Posted by Southern Surgical Arts on Oct 27, 2010 9:29:00 AM
I had a patient come in for a follow up this week who had a Tummy Tuck and SmartLipo a few months ago, and I just wanted to share with you her before and after pictures. This patient is a 38 year old who came to me with concerns of excess skin and fat deposits on her abdomen and flanks. The after pictures were taken 8 weeks after surgery. Recovery time is about 2-3 weeks to be back to normal activities and even some light exercise. You can see in this picture that she is going to be wearing her bikini when she heads to the beach for vacation later this month. She is extremely happy with her results, and it makes me feel great to help women like her feel good about themselves and their bodies again. Getting results like this and making people happy is very rewarding, and I love my job!

Cosmetic Surgery at Grandview Medical Center
Posted by Southern Surgical Arts on Oct 17, 2010 9:30:00 AM
Last week I had a great experience operating at Grandview Medical Center in Jasper, TN, about 20 minutes West of Chattanooga. I did an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) with Smartlipo (laser lipo) of the flanks and thighs. The OR staff was excellent and the patient had a great experience as well. She was able to stay overnight for observation and went home the next day. She commented that her care was as good as she could hope for, and she felt comfortable with the entire experience. I'm happy to be able to partner with a quality, private hospital in the greater Chattanooga area and provide a safe and comfortable experience for my cosmetic surgery patients. I'll be working at Grandview on most Fridays going forward and will be available to see consults there in the Medical Arts office building next to the hospital. ~ Dr. Nease

I get so excited for my patients! We did a tummy tuck on a mother of four who was tired of being asked if she was pregnant. At her last follow up appointment, she was so happy to have a flat tummy! She was telling me how fun it is to get dressed and not have to worry about hiding her stomach. I have the best job ever! ~ Jennifer, RN, BSN
