Jessner Peel - A Go-To Chemical Peel at Southern Surgical Arts

Posted by Southern Surgical Arts on Sep 4, 2012 5:55:00 PM
The Jessner Peel is a chemical peel designed to exfoliate the top layers of the epidermis and stimulate collagen and elastin production deeper in the dermis.  When treating skin conditions like clogged pores, sun damage, acne and hyperpigmentation, the Jessner Peel is one of our best performing procedures.  The  Jessner Peel is an unbuffered combination of 14% lactic acid, 14% salicylic acid, and 14% resorcinol in a hydro-alcohol base.  It is considered a 7-day peel procedure because from the day the solution is applied to the end of peeling is usually about 7 days.

Southern Surgical Arts' Aesthestican Felicia Velarde located in Calhoun, Georgia said, "This is my favorite Chemical Peel because I'm seeing significant results for my patients with little downtime and maximum results!"  The benefits of the Jessner Peel include:

    • Skin rejuvenation and textural improvements.

    • Reduces acne scarring and psuedofolliculitus (ingrown hairs) progressively.

    • Reduces acneic conditions, particularly with impacted pores (blackheads).

    • Reduces hyperpigmentation.

    • Smoothes fine lines and wrinkles.

    • Improves overall complexion and restores a “youthful glow” to sluggish, ruddy/rough or devitalized skin.

    • An EXCELLENT prep 6-8 weeks prior to more invasive procedures like laser resurfacing.

The method and number of applications (or coats) applied will typically determine the depth of the peel and overall aesthetic results. The Jessner Peel can be repeated for an acne "tune-up" every 2 weeks, and 6-8 weeks for  skin care maintenance. The Jessner Peel is not recommended for individuals with eczema, sunburn, active herpes simplex, rosacea, asthma, pregnancy, lupus or recent use of Accutane.

Southern Surgical Arts offers a variety of peels that meet your needs. Our aestheticians recommend the Jessner Peel to our patients in North Georgia and Chattanooga for noticeable results for beautiful skin.

For your complimentary skincare consultation or to schedule your appointment for a Jessner Peel, call our Calhoun office at 706-629-8622 or Chattanooga office at 423-266-3331.

Southern Surgical Arts has unveiled their newly designed website for Chattanooga, North Georgia and North Alabama cosmetic surgery patients

Today, Southern Surgical Arts has announced the launch of a redesigned website created to cater to both the visual and logical cosmetic surgery patient. On the new site, the Chattanooga cosmetic surgery center provides a wide range of information on Smart Lipo, Face & Neck Lifts, Cosmetic Breast Surgery, Tummy Tucks, Liposuction and numerous other outpatient operations.

Equipped with an extensive portfolio of before-and-after photos along with short videos for patients who prefer to see the Southern Surgical Arts’ difference, the site is one of the most aesthetically designed sources for cosmetic surgery available. Supporting the website’s visual appeal is a generous amount of written information on available cosmetic surgeries including factual data, surgery statistics and biographical backgrounders on the surgery center’s board certified surgeons.

Also found on the website is a patient portal for existing cosmetic surgery patients. The portal gives access to electronic medical records, consent forms, general financial information and the treatments process, all through a secure log in.

“After enhancing the appearance of our patients, we felt it was time to give our own practice website a facelift,” said Dr. Nease, Southern Surgical Arts’ triple-board certified Cosmetic and Facial Plastic Surgeons. “We set out to create an intuitive, user-friendly website and ended up with a clean and professional page that I feel will make the whole process for our patients a pleasant experience.”

Cosmetic Surgery Center Teams with Charities to Give Back to Community

Posted by Southern Surgical Arts on Jun 4, 2012 5:59:00 PM
Southern Surgical Arts, Chattanooga's leading cosmetic surgery center, is pleased to announce their recent alignment with the Breast Oasis and Allergan Brilliant Distinction charities. Through their philanthropic efforts, Southern Surgical Arts will give back to women in the local community.

Both charity outreach programs have a common thread -- they target women who have undergone a cosmetic surgery procedure.

Through Breast Oasis, women who have had breast augmentations and no longer fit in their pre-surgery bras are encouraged to donate the slightly used under garments. Once collected by participating retailers and cosmetic surgery centers, like Southern Surgical Arts, these bras are then sorted, washed, gift-wrapped and delivered to women in need. Recipients, many of which are in homeless or crisis centers, are even provided with messages of encouragement from the donators through an online bra-identification number messaging system.

To date, Breast Oasis has collected and donated over 100,000 bras to women across the country and has plans to expand internationally, including in disaster zones. With the recent launch of Southern Surgical Arts' bra collection initiatives they hope to take in 400 bras for the Breast Oasis charity this year.

"It is truly a grass-roots movement to bring the community together," said Dr. Chad Deal, a fellowship-trained and Board Certified Cosmetic Surgeon at the surgery center. "Champion Cleaners' Hickory Valley Road location will be laundering the bras we collect, and donate them to Chattanooga Room in the Inn, a temporary home for women and children in need."

Southern Surgical Arts cosmetic surgery practice is also working with the Allergan Brilliant Distinctions program. Allergan Brilliant Distinctions gives credit to patients each time they receive a BOTOX® Cosmetic or JUVÉDERM® XC treatment from a participating physician. These credits can be redeemed at a later time for discounts on additional procedures or donated as cash contributions to Dress for Success, the Make a Wish Foundation or other charities. The points can now be donated to Southern Surgical Arts' charity.

"Bring the Breast Oasis and Allergan Brilliant Distinctions programs to the Chattanooga area couldn't be more exciting," says Dr. Carey Nease, a triple-board certified cosmetic surgeon at Southern Surgical Arts. "We truly believe that through these amazing charities we can make a positive impact in the lives of women."

To drop off bras for Breast Oasis, visit either of Southern Surgical Arts' locations located at One North Shore, 200 Manufacturers Rd - Suite 105, Chattanooga, TN or 120 Cornerstone Way, Calhoun GA. For more information on donating credits earned in the Allergan Brilliant Distinctions program, call Southern Surgical Arts at 423-266-3331.

Champion Cleaners is run by Tim & Kathy Miller and is located at 2301 Hickory Valley Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
