SSA Salutes Dr. Justin Gusching, Ohio Army National Guard Major, Ahead of 4-Month Deployment

Even though it will be his first time in battle, Dr. Justin Gusching isn’t afraid. Upon receiving his orders last month, the Ohio Army National Guard Major was told to report for duty April 12th for a four-month deployment overseas. In his capacity as field surgeon, classification 62 Bravo, he will likely be stationed on the front lines in the fight against an all-too-familiar enemy: ISIS. “I’m good with it. I’m ready for it. I’ve done trauma. I’m actually kind of excited to get back,” he says.
