Every now and then, an innovation comes along in aesthetic surgery that is truly revolutionary. These rare inventions usually have a good deal of buzz and hype surrounding them, and they actually live up to every accolade they receive. We are excited to announce a new technology at Southern Surgical Arts that is the biggest step forward since the invention of breast implants and the use of botulinum toxin as a beauty tool: Introducing BodyTite.

Fat removal is a common request here at Southern Surgical Arts, one we hear many times a day, every day. And we have a variety of treatment options available to achieve this. BodyTite is highly effective at removing fat…but this is not the amazing thing about BodyTite.

Excess skin is another problem that patients frequently want to be addressed. When a patient has excess skin that has lost its elasticity, we have a few options. We can cut it out, as with a tummy tuck, but this process leaves obvious scarring. Some scars, such as with thigh lifts and arm lifts, cannot be hidden, making this an imperfect option in many cases.

We can also do some tightening via adding implants or fat transfer, such as with the skin of the buttocks and the breasts, but this is not an option for other parts of the body.

Finally, we can tighten skin to some extent with ultrasound or lasers, but these results are underwhelming and inconsistent.

What makes BodyTite so special is that this cutting-edge new technology provides near surgical-level skin tightening results as well as highly-effective fat removal. BodyTite is the only non-surgical, minimally invasive technology available that can combine fat removal and skin tightening in the same procedure. And the results are dramatic and immediate.

BodyTite works by delivering radiofrequency energy via an internal cannula. This heats and liquefies the internal fat, which is immediately removed. Meanwhile, the skin is also heated externally, resulting in skin contraction and tightening. Your cosmetic surgeon will be able to see and precisely control exactly how much heat is being generated, allowing them to prevent any thermal damage.

The technology used in BodyTite allows for maximum heating—and maximum results—because the machine is constantly regulating its temperature in real time to protect the skin. The temperatures reached in a BodyTite procedure far exceed those used during a laser treatment, but the machine’s built-in protections make it a safe procedure as well as a highly-effective one. And it’s fast. Your surgeon can actually see your skin retract and tighten while you are undergoing your procedure.

Because BodyTite is minimally-invasive, patients will only have a few tiny scars that will be virtually invisible. Side effects include mild bruising and tenderness, and patients will be able to return to normal activities immediately. There are simply no other procedures that can provide you with these dramatic results with such little downtime and tiny, virtually invisible scars.

Treatment areas for BodyTite include the abdomen, flanks, hips, thighs, arms, buttocks, and neck. BodyTite can also be used to treat stubborn fat pockets and loose skin above the knees and elbows.

Simply put, BodyTite is a game-changer for cosmetic surgery, and it’s now available at Southern Surgical Arts.
